Young « professional » farmers have been given an agricultural training of good level
Agreste cahiers n° 41 - septembre 1999
Technological and vocational training progresses in all activity sectors.
Technological and vocational training progresses in all activity sectors. Thus the number of family active persons who were given an agricultural education has increased by 5 % between 1988 and 1997, while their total number decreased by more than 30 %. This increase is due to the young farmers whose general education level is going up to. Female farmers, like other women, still prefer general education to vocational training.
Better trained farmers run general agriculture holdings rather than animal production farms. Their farms, managed with modern and rational production methods, are large in economic size as well as in physical size. A good many of them are corporate forms.
