In 2000, the cattle breeders of the « charolais » beef basin in the centre of France remained heavily dedicated to rearing suckler cattle.
In 2000, the cattle breeders of the « charolais » beef basin in the centre of France remained heavily dedicated to rearing suckler cattle. Since 1988, the breeders of suckler cows were still mostly to be found in farms specialized in beef cattle. These farms, that account for 80 % of the suckler cows of this area, are quite big and still practise extensive breeding.
