In the year 2000, young farmers in the extraperipheral departments (DOM) were managing small, individual farms with little equipment.
In the year 2000, young farmers in the extraperipheral departments (DOM) were managing small, individual farms with little equipment. Only one-third of them worked exclusively on these farms. For the others, this was more of a complementary activity, their main occupation not being in agriculture. Nonetheless, the DOM farmers aged under forty enjoy better working conditions than their elders thanks to the spectacular progress in agricultural training.
