Trends which have been observed for several years are confirmed : equipment in high powered machines, professionalization of farm management. In 1997, an equipped farm possesses more than two tractors on average.
The increase in equipment investments from 1995 to 1997 underlines two things. On the one hand, financial possibilities of farmers have improved thanks to their debt reduction. On the other, the producers have regained confidence, after many of them had postponed their investments since the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy.
