Diversified farms offer more jobs

In a society where there is less and less employment in agriculture, those farms engaged in farm tourism, selling direct from the farm, transforming farm produce or even offering services have curbed this trend somewhat by requiring more workers per farm.
In a society where there is less and less employment in agriculture, those farms engaged in farm tourism, selling direct from the farm, transforming farm produce or even offering services have curbed this trend somewhat by requiring more workers per farm. Beyond this characteristic, over the last ten years the number of these types of farms has fallen sharply, especially those doing direct sale and transformation of farm produce. Diversified farms are distinguished from exclusively agricultural farms in that on diversified farms the main activity is agriculture, the workforce is more often salaried, with a higher level of training, and they are more often organised in a corporate structure.
